Mixing it up

I love this combo of pretty, delicate lace with the tougher denim shirt.

I am sure I have raved about this skirt before as I picked it up in the sale for £5 and I have worn it so many ways but I am going to keep raving as it is such a flattering piece. The length is perfect for me as it cuts off just before my knee and the lace detailing adds a sweet detail.

This shirt I am in love with – it is so comfy and casual and I think everyone needs to invest in a classic denim shirt.

Celebrating Fleet Review

Last weekend was the Australian Navy Fleet Review which celebrated 100 years of the Australian Navy.

I was incredibly fortunate to be able to enjoy the show from a VIP area overlooking the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

It truly amazing watching all the boats bobbing up and down in the harbour. Then it was all about the fireworks. I love fireworks anyway but seeing so many in such an iconic place was a real pinch me moment and made me realise how lucky I am to be exploring this fantastic city.

So I am really behind on my posts so going to try and catch up as best I can.

Last week I headed over by ferry to Manly, which is about half hour away from central Sydney.

You catch the ferry from Circular Quay and head across the harbour past the iconic bridge and Opera House, as well as numerous boats and the most incredible natural landscapes.

After arriving in Manly Wharf, I headed up past Manly Cove and based on a recommendation from a friend walked along a pretty coastal path to Shelley Beach.

The walk was gorgeous and you stroll past some pretty stunning properties that sit looking over the bay and into the great, wide ocean.

Shelley Beach is a little further round, but definitely worth heading to as it is more sheltered than the main beach and less busy. Worth a visit!

Blue at sunset

Today I was running errands in the city that called for me to be a little smarter so I went for my new dress that I picked up in the UK before I left.

I love the drop waist finish and this colour is one of my favourites. I can easily see this becoming one of my go to dresses as you can easily dress it up or down. The zip details on the sleeves add a nice touch and it is a relatively heavy material so hangs really well. I wore it with my burgundy studded pumps.

This evening we headed to Manly for sunset – such a magical place and really puts it into perspective how beautiful the world can be and that you really can go anywhere!
